The Field magazine, IPC Media's oldest title, is celebrating its 155th anniversary with a new look in its August issue.
Editor Jonathan Young was keen to capture the classic and contemporary aspects of the title.
"Like every classic brand, The Field has survived through constant evolution while remaining true to its original concept," he said. "The design team's brief was to create the effortless elegance you see in a thoroughbred horse and a Purdey gun, where less equals more."
The redesigned magazine now boasts a new front section, Opening Shots, which includes a focus on game, hits and misses in the news, and The Field miscellany. The back section carries reviews and articles on the best guns, dogs, books, art, wine, food and everything else that makes life worth living. Between these two sections the pages are stuffed full of features ranging from a monster gamebook to asking whether Lady Chatterley's lover was any good at the job he was paid to do.
The August issue is on sale from 17 July.
