G&WCT issues grey partridge guidelines

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (G&WCT) has now issued guidelines on how to foster grey partridges in suitable areas.
As highlighted by The Field (Partridge-shooting could face ban, April issue and on www.thefield.co.uk) the future of all partridge-shooting may be endangered unless we restore the population of greys and remove the risk of their becoming a protected species.
If sufficient landowners adopt the system, we could be shooting our premier lowland gamebird in the future with the threat of protected species status lifted.
