Forces sweet heart and American icon Mae West met Borgan Mogilinicki in 1941 on one of her many ‘moral-boosting’ tours and signed his sterling silver cigarette-case. The signature has been declared authentic by the Imperial War Museum and a copy of the verification letter accompanies the lot in.

The sale will take place at Holt’s Princess Louise House, 190 Hammersmish Road, London W6 7DJ on 12 December 2013 and lot 375 is estimated to fetch £800-£1,000. Interested parties would do well to remember Mae West’s own words “he who hesitates is a damned fool”.
