He acquired a Boss muzzle-loader as a boy and frustrated at the lack of written information on Boss, researched their history that culminated in his first book, Boss & Co, Builders Of Best Guns Only published in 1995. Since then, he has written 13 books on British gunmakers, Purdey, Holland & Holland, Dickson etc and they can be found on his website.
