Just because you are not lucky enough to be shooting grouse
on 12th August, you don’t have to miss out entirely. There are birds
on their way to London restaurants already so you can be tucking in to a roast
young grouse for your supper on the
‘glorious twelfth’ without ever raising your gun.
The Stafford London in St. James’ is aiming to be the first
to offer grouse today and Land Rovers were standing by at first light to
transport birds from Castle Bolton in the Yorkshire Dales. They will be
traditionally cooked – roast with game chips, seasonal vegetables and game
gravy – and available in The
Stafford London’s Lyttleton Resturant until the end of November for £39
